1. BYZANTINE HIGH KARAT GOLD CROSS PENDANT WITH PALM BRANCHES

A gold cross pendant formed of four joined circular lobes. The front is decorated with a symmetrical design of stylised palmettes and foliate scrolls arranged around a central cross motif, all within a hatched border. A rolled suspension loop is attached above. The reverse remains plain.

2. BYZANTINE HIGH KARAT GOLD CROSS WITH CENTRAL RED GARNET CABOCHON AND FOUR QUADRUPEDS

A gold pendant in the form of a cross with rounded arms, each composed of a repoussé medallion enclosing a beaded border and a quadruped with curled tail and head turned back. A garnet cabochon is set in a raised circular bezel at the centre, surrounded by four applied gold spheres and a border of fine granulation. The suspension loop is positioned above, and the reverse is plain.

3. MEROVINGIAN SILVER-GILT BISHOP’S NECKLACE WITH CROSS PENDANT

A silver-gilt necklace comprising a woven chain terminating in cylindrical collars and joined to two large discoid elements, each with a central garnet cabochon and punched decorative border. Suspended below is a cross-shaped pendant with concave sides and broad, rounded terminals, similarly decorated with a central garnet and raised circular motifs surrounded by punched ornamentation. 4. OUTSTANDING LATE ROMAN / BYZANTINE GOLD LEAF MEDALLION DEPICTING BUST OF A SAINT IN HIGH KARAT GOLD

A circular medallion formed of translucent glass with gold leaf, depicting a bust of a saint flanked by two rosettes. A gold belt fitting in the form of a recumbent stag with exaggerated, branching antlers extending along the back. The body is ornamented with turquoise inserts set into recessed cells at the eye, shoulder, flank, and haunch. The reverse is hollowed and fitted with attachment lugs. 23. RARE BYZANTINE GLASS BOTTLE IN BRONZE OPENWORK SUSPENSION MOUNT

A cylindrical glass bottle set within an openwork bronze mount, suspended by three chains joined at the top by a hook and converging through a pierced rosette terminal. The clear glass body is enclosed in a cage of bronze cross-shaped mounts, each arm decorated with concentric circles and terminating in rounded lobes. The crosses extend from a ring at the shoulder to another at the base, which rests on three ball feet. A domed bronze lid covers the mouth of the bottle.

28. MEROVINGIAN OR LOMBARD HIGH KARAT GOLD MEDALLION WITH CENTRAL DECORATION OF CABOCHONS

A circular gold medallion, featuring a central cabochon garnet surrounded by a ring of smaller garnet cabochons set in raised collets. The outer field is decorated with alternating applied gold elements in the form of stylised stars, all set against a textured ground. Fine beaded wire borders define the central and peripheral zones. Two loop attachments are soldered to the edge on opposite sides for suspension. The reverse is plain and slightly concave.

MEROVINGIAN INLAID BRONZE BELT BUCKLE WITH CENTRAL CABOCHON

Ca. AD 450 - 525

A bronze belt buckle with a rectangular plate framed by a border of alternating square cells enclosing punched Xs and ring motifs. The central field is executed in cloisonné, with an oval dark blue cabochon set within a matrix of irregular compartments filled with yellow and red inlays. A matching oval cabochon, smaller in size, is set into the prong extending from the fastening loop. The loop itself is decorated with shallow crescent-shaped incisions and joined to the plate by a simple bar secured with rivets. For similar see: V. A circular silver-gilt appliqué with a flat profile, pierced at four points along the perimeter. The central raised section is decorated with a quatrefoil cut-out and inlaid with a red garnet, encircled by a punched border. Four radial bands divide the field into quadrants filled with gilded decoration, bordered by a slightly raised outer edge. The reverse is undecorated. For similar see: T. D. MEROVINGIAN SILVER-GILT RADIANT BROOCH

A silver-gilt brooch with engraved motifs on its main section. The brooch has a rectangular central part with a prominent ridge and meander patterns. The bottom of the design is shaped like a stylised animal muzzle, while the top is hemispherical and adorned with a geometric line pattern. The brooch is topped with five protruding knots. 42. PAIR OF SILVER-GILT BYZANTINE BRACELETS WITH CROSS AND GLASS CABOCHONS

A pair of silver-gilt bracelets, each comprising an openwork cuff and a hinged square clasp. The cuffs are decorated with a row of three circular openwork medallions, each enclosing a six-petalled rosette with triangular piercings between the petals. The borders are framed by finely hatched bands. Each clasp is set with a central oval glass cabochon, surrounded by four teardrop-shaped inlays interspersed with small circular settings, all arranged around a cross motif. 45. SASANIAN SILVER-GILT OVAL SHALLOW BOWL WITH PRINCE

An oval-shaped shallow bowl hammered from silver, with gently convex sides and a rounded base. The exterior is plain, while the interior base is engraved and gilt with a standing male figure dressed in a long, patterned garment, hands raised in a gesture of reverence. A tapered alabaster stela with a standing female figure carved in high relief. The abstract figure displays a broad face with recessed eyes, a straight nose, and a small mouth. Both arms are bent at the elbows, with the hands meeting at the centre of the chest. The feet are rendered schematically along the lower edge. SEAL WITH DEITY AND WORSHIPPER

A banded agate cylinder seal engraved with a vertical panel divided into three registers. The upper part shows two confronting bulls flanking a central plant motif. The central register depicts a seated figure wearing a long garment and a rounded cap, facing a smaller kneeling figure with one hand raised and a dog at his feet. Between them are a cross-shaped motif and a star-like symbol, with a tree beneath the throne. Cuneiform inscriptions fill the space to the left and right of the central field.
