Wish Book readers once again generously responded to our annual effort to provide much-needed services and support to our neighbors who are struggling.
The total donations for Wish Book 2024 were $804,256
All of the money raised goes to the nonprofit programs and families featured in the Wish Book campaign, with The Mercury News covering all administrative costs of the program.

The Mercury News Wish Book’s mission is to invite readers to help neighbors in need by supporting local communities and charities in the southern region of the Bay Area. Since its inception in 1983, The Mercury News Wish Book has raised more than $13 million.
Each year, from Thanksgiving Day through December, The Mercury News publishes a series of Wish Book stories focusing on special “Wishes” or needs from charities, organizations or local people.
Wishes have helped the unhoused people find shelter, jobs and basic needs, raised scholarships to low income families, provide therapeutic care for children with autism, feed families in need, and so much more. By illuminating the work that these organizations provide, we’ve strengthened our connection to the community. The impact of your donations make a meaningful difference to the lives of our neighbors.
