A Word from the Sale Manager

Welcome to the 23rd Missouri Opportunity Sale. You may notice a few changes and new faces to this long-running event, but the one constant is the excellent quality Herefords and Hereford-Influenced females being offered November 2 at 12 Noon. Whether it’s a new herd sire, that hard to get semen to help elevate your purebred operation or to add value to your commercial type calves through heterosis.

If it’s time to freshen up your cow herd you will find an excellent offering of open heifers, some that will be very competitive for Juniors in the show ring, others that will be ready to take home and breed to your top bulls, bred heifers and cows carrying the service of today’s most popular sires, fall pairs open and ready to breed to your preference of bulls. Also offered are exceptional packages of bred and open F1 Hereford-influenced females.

In addition, be sure to look at the awesome embryo packages being offered. In the past couple of years at major shows and sales, Missouri families have excelled with their Herefords in a world noted more for color than breed. These breeders are offering this opportunity for you to enjoy the same successes by raising your next top heifer prospect, a bull or cow that produces one.

Twenty-three members from across the state will be in Sedalia, Missouri the weekend of November 1-2, offering you the opportunity to inspect and add these genetics from the heart of their herds. It is such an exciting time to be in the cattle industry, as I am writing this letter feeder cattle are setting record highs almost hourly, fat cattle are inching closer to $4 in the meat and with the recent Cattle on Feed report being what I feel on the bullish side of neutral, and the well documented diminishing cow numbers we are poised to be like this for quite some time.

So come early, bring a friend or two, visit old friends, make some new ones while enjoying a lunch made available by a junior organization and most of all looking at top Hereford cattle!

See you at the sale!

This FTF Relevant daughter is hard to let go! Her dam was our pick of the spring heifer calf splits in the 2022 WMC Sale, ranking in the top 1% for WW and YW, and she definitely did not disappoint with her first calf. 2409 herself ranks in the top 10% for WW and YW. She is feminine, dark red and even has an extra splash of pigment. Our Gold Rush calves have been the right kind with loads of pigment and body depth. This mating could be special! AI bred 3/14/25 to CMF 1720 GOLD RUSH 569G ET with heifer plus. Confirmed pregnant via ultrasound. Consigned by 5-D Herefords – Berryville, AR - Zack Dombek 636.222.2437

Nice show heifer and future donor prospect here. 41N’s dam is a huge bodied, fescue adapted, flat out calf raiser in any country. That true cow power was compounded on in this mating to Marksman 211, with added eye appeal and style. We love her type and kind from all angles, and her sweet attitude on the halter makes her extra special. Check out this goggle-eyed, long-bodied, big-middled, dark red, smooth-made lady sired by the ever-popular WMC Trojan Boss. With excellent EPDs and being a double-bred Leader, this beauty is front pasture material in anyone’s herd. Sells open and OCV’d.

his mark on the breed. We showed this heifer’s dam, who is very easy fleshing. We believe this heifer will have the same mass and body, but with a much cleaner front. This heifer’s great-grand-dam is a Logic daughter we purchased from the McCorkill’s at a previous Opportunity Sale. She excels in weaning weight, milk, udder, and carcass weight EPDs. He is rough and rugged with awesome legs and substance. Very smooth in his makeup. He would improve females in anyone’s herd, as well as make those pretty baldies in a commercial operation. This Rampage daughter comes to you straight out of our small bred heifer group. I’d like to describe her as the combo heifer out of the group and probably the most complete heifer in the group. She’s a broody, moderately framed, well-made female with plenty of eye appeal, as she is dark red, goggle-eyed, and short-marked. She goes back to the X395 cow (Rosy Lane family) on the top side and Churchill Broadway and P606 on the bottom side. Top cow prospect. Balanced set of numbers to go with her. Her yearling scan data: REA 9.11, IMF 5.64, Fat 0.16. Dehorned. Bred AI to AW STATESMAN 038W on 5.10.2025. Consigned by Phillips-Renner Farms – Richmond, MO - Amy Phillips 816.878.7305

This cow comes from Purple Reign Cattle Co. The bottom side of her pedigree is from the heart of their program, and the top side is the well-known Sensation 2296 bull. She was exhibited successfully by Sophia as a heifer. She balances very well in her structure and lines. She has raised two nice commercial calves and has a good udder. This is the first time she has been bred to have a purebred Hereford calf. AI’d 7.25 to BACC 747 Fundamental 114. Additional breeding info will be available on sale day. H DS LADY

Donor female alert! H DS Lady1456 ET is a young and productive cow that we are only selling at this early stage of her life due to the fact that we already have four daughters of hers in the herd! Her pedigree power is hard to match in the breed…sired by maternal legend NJW Historic…and a direct daughter of the “dam of herd bulls” RST GAT NST Y79D Lady 54B! We successfully conducted IVF on her as a bred heifer, so her record of providing embryos of good quality is established. We have competitively shown daughters out of her for the past two summers. Bred to calve prior to sale day to PCC 7009 173D Maverick 0183 ET. This calf will likely be a herd bull candidate or top-level replacement female prospect for the winning bidder on 1456. Help yourself here! Consigned by Waters Farm – Norborne, MO -

This heifer calf fulfills her name, Pristine; clean, fresh, and spotless. Once again, another amazing Deluxe calf, who is dark red and goggle-eyed. Consigned by Whispering Winds Farm – Independence, MO - Brian Mundy 816.668.4521

Like most cheerleaders, this one is impressive to look at. Dark red, pigmented with a great disposition and a 12.2 calving ease. She is a good addition to any herd. She is pasture-exposed to the $60,000, high-selling bull, Walker Full Circle 3511 ET from April 15-July 15. Confirmed pregnant (estimated calving approximately 3-17-26).
