Thinking about becoming a member? Adults 50+ are welcome to spend the day as a guest with a $5 Visitor Pass. Guests may sign up for any social or lecture for the day, if space is available, and will receive a temporary parking permit for that day.

Looking for a gift that encourages having fun and staying active for a friend or family member ages 50 and better? The Cupertino Senior Center offers gift cards redeemable towards membership, classes, and more. Gift cards make great gifts and are available for purchase at the Senior Center's front desk.

The Stay Active Fund helps adults 50 years and older to remain active and engaged by participating in activities at the Cupertino Senior Center. This fund provides financial assistance through scholarships to offset the cost for Senior Center membership and registrations for classes and events. The Stay Active Fund is available from January 1 until the funds are depleted. Please contact the Senior Center front desk for more details.

Caregiver Network Counseling

Wednesday, 1 to 4 p.m.

December 3, January 7, February 4, and March 4

The Caregivers Network provides friend or family caregivers free support for their unique situations. A Care Manager will be available for one-hour in-person appointments to provide resources and information for caregivers to support loved one.

Caregiver Support Group

Tuesday, 1 to 2:30 p.m.

December 16, January 20, February 17, and March 17

Caregiving is tough and you do not have to do it alone. Join other friend and family caregivers to learn about resources, share experiences, and enjoy a social outlet. Lead by the Caregiver Network of Sourcewise, a Santa Clara County resource agency for seniors, the group is for caregivers of adults 60 and older or someone of any age with a dementia type disease (Huntington’s, early onset Alzheimer’s traumatic brain injury, etc.).

Use Silicon Valley Hopper for destinations such as the grocery store, local eateries, post office, and more. Health Insurance Counseling (HICAP)

Monday, 1 to 4 p.m.

HICAP provides no-cost counseling services and is funded by the California Department of Aging and Sourcewise. Find out what your options are with Medicare and what will work best for you. The Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program will help you fully understand your Medicare options to be better informed to make the right choices.

Senior Adult Legal Aid (SALA)

Free assistance to elders for basic legal matters in public benefits, long-term care, elder abuse, housing, consumer issues, incapacity planning probate alternative, and simple wills. Must be 60 or older and live in Santa Clara County. If unable to meet in person, call (408) 295-5991.

50+ Pickleball - Spring Season

Monday, March 30 to May 18 8 to 11 a.m.

Cupertino Sports Center

Play doubles pickleball with other Senior Center members at the Sport Court at the Cupertino Sports Center.

Preregistration and Senior Center membership is required. Sports Center membership is not required. Paddles and balls are not provided but nets will be provided.

Senior Center Membership required to participate. Member price $32 for the season.

Blackberry Farm Golf Course

Tee off with fellow Senior Center members at the 9-hole Blackberry Farm Golf Course. Enjoy friendly rounds of golf in a relaxed atmosphere. All skill levels welcome.

Ballroom Dance Social

Monday, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Step onto the dance floor and enjoy an afternoon of ballroom dancing with friends. No partner required.

Room capacity is limited to 30 people.

Cupertino TV Productions

First and third Tuesday, 10 a.m. to noon

Enjoy making film production or want to learn how? Join the Cupertino TV Production and create a TV segment that airs on the city channel, YouTube, and Roku. No experience required and new members are welcome to join. Senior Center membership and official volunteer status required to participate.

Open Game Playing Time

Tuesday, 1 to 4 p.m.

Drop in to play a board game or card game at your leisure with other members. Some board games available for play. Members are welcome to bring their own games to play with others.

Come join this technology group discussion to have them answered while learning from other people’s questions. Discussion is geared towards the interest of those who attend each session.

Conversations

Engage in stimulating conversations on a variety of topics, from current events to thoughtprovoking themes. A welcoming space for lively discussion and new ideas.

The Cupertino Sandlot softball group warms-up and take batting practice at 9 a.m. A pick-up game starts promptly at 10 a.m. each week. Senior Center Membership required to participate.

Book Club

First Thursday, January to May 2 to 3 p.m.

Read the monthly book and join a discussion regarding the book, lead by the Cupertino Library. Those registered will be provided with a copy of the book to be read before the meeting date.

Needlecraft

Thursday, 10 a.m. to noon

Know how to knit or crochet and enjoy making blankets, scarves, and beanies? Become a volunteer to join our Needlecraft volunteer group to make knitted items for local homeless shelters and hospitals.

Thursday, noon to 4 p.m.

Tech Time

Drop in to our Tech Lab and receive 1-on-1 help with any technology questions you have for any device. You may bring your phone, laptop, tablet, smart watch, etc., or come with your questions to get answered. Assistance will be a first come first served basis and are limited to one question at a time.

Do you enjoy walking outdoors and socializing with new people? Help lead our weekly morning walking social while enjoy the outdoor fresh air.

Holiday Tea and Train Lights

Get in the holiday spirit with an enchanting, fun-filled train ride through Niles Canyon at dusk as you enjoy the trains mesmerizing lights. It is the perfect time to gather with friends and feel the excitement and joy of the festive season while wearing your favorite warm holiday sweater for the ride.

Before your adventurous ride, relax over a threecourse Victorian high tea at Tyme for Tea. The enchanting setting is created with a twinkling tree and sparkling lights for the holidays.

Savor the Season in San Francisco

Take in the festive lights reflecting from the Bay Bridge over delicious signature dishes at The Franciscan, one of the last legendary fish houses on the Wharf.. Decorated in a 1950's style with black and white photos of celebrities that have dines at this famous establishment, you will enjoy some seafood favorites with a custom family style menu

Manet and Morisot: Pioneers of Impressionism

Delight in a delectable brunch with sweeping views of the Pacific at The Beach Chalet restaurant across from Ocean Beach. Visit the Legion of Honor to view the limited term exhibit of Eduard Manet and Berthe Morisot, two of the founding members of the Impressionist movement, and the rest of the stunning art in the museum.

The San Francisco Flower Market and KQED

Wednesday, February 4, 8:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

Go behind the scenes at three uniquely San Francisco enterprises! Begin with an educational tour of the vibrant San Francisco Flower Market at its new Potrero Hill location. Refresh with your included lunch at Delancey Street Restaurant, an ecletci bistro and training school for residents of the Delancey Street Foundation who are rebuilding their lives. Conclude with a tour of KQED's studio and newsroom to see how their reporters tackle the daily news.

East Meets West: A Tale of Two Museums

Friday, March 6, 9 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Calling all art lovers! Immerse yourself in the inspiring masterpieces featured in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) and the Asian Art Museum. SFMOMA holds one of the largest collections of modern and contemporary art in the United States, spanning seven floors, displaying paintings to sculptures to media art. Matching such collection, the Asian Art Museum holds one of the most comprehensive collections of Asian art with more than 18,000 objects spanning more than 6,000 years of Asian history.

Craft and Chocolate

Enter the beautiful atmosphere of Son and Garden to start your day with a delectable brunch. Discover the Museum of Craft and Design nestled in the historic American Industrial Center in San Francisco's vibrant Dogpatch neighborhood. Complete your day with a docent-led tour of the Dandelion Chocolate Factory as you learn about the art of chocolate making with samples and house made hot chocolate.

Let's celebrate the Year of the Horse! People born in this year are said to be animated, active, energetic, and optimistic. Join us for a Chinese meal and cultural entertainment as the lion dancers join to ring in the New Year. Members with February birthdays will be honored.

St. Patrick's Day Birthday Bash

Wednesday, March 11

Join us for the Irish tradition of St. Patrick's Day featuring Irish entertainment plus a full meal of corned beef and cabbage, carrots, potatoes, and dessert. Members with March birthdays will be honored.
