BENEFITS SUMMARY

2025-26

Collegiate School is pleased to offer a rich variety of benefit options designed to meet the needs of our employees and their families. Below is a brief summary of the benefit offerings available to eligible employees.

MEDICAL INSURANCE

Collegiate School offers eligible employees who work at least 75% FTE, three options of medical coverage through Anthem. The Buy-Up option is a traditional plan that provides benefits services using a co-payment structure with a small deductible and co-insurance for certain services The Core Plan is a Health Savings Account qualified High Deductible Health plan with a $3,500 individual deductible ($7,000 per family) The Buy-Down Plan is also a Health Savings Account qualified High Deductible Health plan with a $4,500 individual deductible ($9,000 per family) All three plans use Anthem’s Healthkeepers network of providers with access to a national network All plans have out-of-network benefits available The school pays 100% of the premium for employee only coverage in Anthem Buy-Down Plan If an employee wishes to choose the Core Plan or the Buy-Up plan, or to enroll their dependents in coverage, a premium is paid by the employee on a pre-tax basis through payroll deduction Below is the cost of the plans for the 2025-26 school year:

The rates typically change at open enrollment in September. If you are enrolling for the first time, your coverage will be effective on the first day of the month following when your employment begins (for salaried employees). For hourly employees, coverage is effective 30 days after employment begins.

DENTAL INSURANCE

An optional dental insurance program is available to eligible Collegiate employees who work at least 80% FTE through Delta Dental Insurance. Employees may participate as individuals or may enroll their eligible dependents. Premiums are deducted pre-tax on a semi-monthly basis. Below is the biweekly cost for the Dental Plan for the 2025-26 school year:

ENHANCED VOLUNTARY VISION

Collegiate offers the opportunity to enroll in an enhanced vision plan to supplement the cost of eyeglasses and contact lenses. The plan is managed through Anthem’s BlueView Vision Plan. Premiums are deducted on a pre-tax basis. Below is the biweekly cost for the Enhanced Voluntary Vision Plan for the 2025-26 school year:

FLEXIBLE BENEFITS PLANS / HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNTS

Collegiate School has a Flexible Benefits Plan under Section 125 of the Interna 80% FTE. This plan serves three purposes.

Allows employees to make contributions to Collegiate's medical and/or d

Allows employees to set aside pre-tax dollars in a reimbursement accoun medical expenses such as copayments or deductibles

Allows employees to set aside pre-tax dollars in a reimbursement accoun children or elderly parents.

Employees who are enrolled in one of the High Deductible Health Plans may choose to put pre-tax dollars for qualified out-of-pocket medical, dental, or vision expenses into a Health Savings Account (HSA) instead of a Flexible Spending Account (FSA).

For the 2025-26 plan year, eligible employees who were enrolled in the medical FSA as of Sept 1 were eligible to receive a School contribution of $250 to their medical FSA Eligible employees who were enrolled in the Core Medical plan HSA as of Sept 1 were eligible to receive a School contribution of $600 to their HSA Eligible employees who were enrolled in the Buy Down Medical plan HSA as of Sept 1 were eligible to receive a School contribution of $1,200 to their HSA School contribution amounts are determined on an annual basis

HEALTH REIMBURSEMENT ACCOUNT

Collegiate provides a deductible reimbursement plan to assist with deductible expenses for employees enrolled in either the Core Medical Plan or the Buy Down Medical Plan once they have reached a certain threshold of their deductible responsibility. Eligible employees enrolled in the Core Medical Plan can receive up to $700 deductible reimbursement per person (maximum of $1,400 per family), and those enrolled in the Buy Down Medical Plan can receive up to $1,200 per person (maximum of $2,400 per family)

LIFESTYLE SPENDING ACCOUNT

Collegiate is committed to the well-being of our employees and offers a Lifestyle Spending Account to provide reimbursement of up to $300 for self-care. The plan allows employees to request reimbursement for products and services designed to help employees care for their physical, financial, and mental health.

All employees who work at least 50% FTE will automatically be enrolled in the School’s 403(b) Retirement Plan through TIAA with an employee contribution level of 5%. Employees may change their participation level (subject to IRS contribution limits) at any time by contacting the Human Resources Department. Employees have the option to invest their funds in a variety of investment options and can designate their contributions to be remitted to either a pre-tax or ROTH (after-tax) account.

School contributions are made in accordance with the following schedule and are immediately vested:

TERM GROUP LIFE INSURANCE

Life Insurance is provided to eligible Collegiate employees through The Hartford Insurance Company. The amount of life insurance is equal to the individual's annualized salary, rounded up to the next thousand. Coverage for employees is fully paid by Collegiate. Employees have the opportunity to purchase additional voluntary coverage without medical underwriting upon hire (guarantee issue limits apply).

WORKERS’ COMPENSATION INSURANCE

Collegiate pays the full cost of Workers’ Compensation Insurance, which protects employees injured in the course of their employment and takes precedence over any other medical coverage Enrollment is automatic

LONG TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE

This program provides protection for employees who become seriously ill or disabled through an accident and are unable to work for a long period of time or permanently. It provides income protection of up to 60% of salary (up to a $5,000 per month limit, with certain restrictions) after a 90-day waiting period, less any benefits received from Social Security, up to age 65. Partial disability benefits are provided. The premium is paid by the employee and the School provides a benefit allowance to cover the cost of the premium

OTHER VOLUNTARY BENEFIT OPTIONS

Collegiate offers the opportunity to enroll in other voluntary benefit options such as Critical Illness coverage, Accidental coverage, Short Term Disability coverage, and Identity Theft protection Premiums are paid by the employee through payroll deduction.

LEAVE BENEFITS

SICK LEAVE

Pay will be granted to eligible employees for his/her personal illness or for illness of a dependent child living at home. Part-time employees (who are not required to work each day) will be granted sick leave on a prorated basis determined by the number of days they are required to work in their normal work week.

Eligible employees are designated as 10-, 11-, or 12-month employees. They will be granted one day of sick leave for each month they work each year and they may accumulate a maximum of 60 days sick leave.

PAID LEAVE

Employees may request up to 12 weeks for FMLA designated leave, including maternity/paternity leave for the birth or adoption of their own legally dependent child or placement for foster care of a child or for a serious medical condition for an employee, their dependents, or their parents. The School will pay up to the first 10 days of FMLA designated leave, and employees use their available sick and vacation leave, if applicable, once the paid FMLA leave is depleted.

PERSONAL LEAVE

Eligible employees are entitled to use up to three days of their sick leave each year to take care of personal business.

ANNUAL LEAVE (STAFF)

Twelve-month employees are granted annual leave with pay on the following basis:

Fewer than 10 years continuous service

10-19 years continuous service

20 or more years continuous service

2 weeks per year

3 weeks per year

4 weeks per year

Vacation time for new employees is prorated in the first year based on their date of hire.

OTHER

Other types of leave that are available for eligible employees include Bereavement Leave, Compassionate Leave, Professional Leave, and Family and Medical Leave. Please contact the Human Resources Department for details.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

FACULTY COURSE WORK GRANTS

Collegiate will reimburse faculty members for all course work, designed for certification or recertification, at the in-state tuition rate of a Virginia public college or university undergraduate course Faculty members enrolled in a formal graduate program will be reimbursed at the in-state tuition rate of a Virginia public college or university graduate course unless prior arrangements had been agreed upon with the School Head. Further details of the program are available in the Faculty and Staff Handbook. Faculty are responsible for their own materials and the textbooks.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT GRANTS

The Arthur S. Brinkley, Jr. Grant, Alumni Grant for Faculty Excellence, the Julia Williams Fund and other endowments recognize outstanding teachers and encourage their professional development by funding summer study, travel, and professional development activities for recipients They simultaneously recognize outstanding faculty, support their professional development, and promote enhancement of the curriculum

OTHER BENEFITS

DEPENDENT TUITION REMISSION

Tuition remission of 50% per child per household for dependent children enrolled at Collegiate School is provided to employees who work at least 80% of the normal full-time load for their position An employee parent is eligible for this remission only if he/she claims the child as a legal dependent and assumes financial responsibility for the child's tuition expense Financial aid may be granted, in addition to tuition remission, when financial need is demonstrated by filing through the School’s Financial Aid process

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Employees may use a counseling and referral service through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) The EAP provides confidential help with personal problems that you or your family might experience The cost of the service is paid for by Collegiate School Contact the Human Resources Department for details

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT BUDGETS

Each Division Head has an annual budget earmarked for faculty professional development. Faculty may seek funds from this source for workshops, conference attendance and similar activities.

TECHNOLOGY TRAINING

Short courses are offered on campus each semester on various technology subjects Topics covered might include how to use a particular software package, how to apply software to certain instructional needs, etc

PERSONAL COMPUTER PURCHASE PROGRAM

Collegiate offers a program through which employees may purchase computers for personal use through payroll deduction. The cost of the computer is divided into equal installments and payroll deducted over a period of one year.

SCHOOL PAID LUNCH

Free lunch is provided to all faculty and staff who are scheduled to work during the lunch period throughout the school year. For those who are scheduled to work during the summer months, free lunch is provided during most weeks throughout the summer as well.

AFTER-SCHOOL CHILD CARE

After-school child care is provided at no cost through our Quest program for faculty and staff children while they are working in Grades JK-6 until 6 p m each school day A reduced rate is charged for professional days and holiday periods when Quest is open
