The “Parco delle Cascine” was built in the mid-1800’s and around the mid-nineteenth century, the district was called the "English quarter" due to the large presence of British.

The “Anglo American” hotel was born in 1890, with its name recalling the cultural mix of the city.
It has ever been the place where cultures met, recalling the Letterari cafés and cultural salons.
L’hotel “Anglo American” nasce nel 1890. Il suo nome è un tributo al mix culturale della città.
Da allora è sempre stato il luogo dove si incontravano culture diverse, come nei caffè letterari e nei saloni culturali.
the architecture
The architecture reflects the Florentine style of the time with a sober and linear façade with light plasters, arched frames doors and windows.
The interior of the building presents modern stuccoes in good condition, and liberty inspired decorations, such as balustrades, canopies and mirrored surfaces.
L’architettura riflette lo stile fiorentino dell’epoca, con una facciata sobria e lineare, intonaci chiari e aperture ad arco per porte e finestre. L'interno dell’edificio presenta stucchi moderni in buono stato e decorazioni ispirate al Liberty, come balaustre, pensiline e superfici a specchio.
The grand tour
In the 18th-century the city had aroused great interest in the Anglo-Americans who, attracted by its artistic beauties, by the mild climate and by the possibility of leading a luxurious life with lower costs than the motherland, poured into the city. As a result, over the years, a large community of Anglo-Americans who resided in town was formed .

The anglo-american community
Between the beginning of the 19th Century Florence assists at the booming of the AngloAmerican community. The British noble families were attracted by the beauty of art literature and poetry. The Americans were mainly art collectors. The Anglo American Community influenced different aspects of the daily life.
Dagli inizi del XIX secolo, Firenze assistette al rapido sviluppo della comunità anglo-americana. Le famiglie nobili britanniche erano attratte dalla bellezza dell’arte, della letteratura e della poesia, mentre gli americani erano principalmente collezionisti d’arte. The revolutionary art
Florence is also stage to the Macchiaioli revolution in traditional aesthetics. Their new techniques were presented for the first time to the general public in September 1861, on the occasion of the National Exhibition of Fine Arts, set up in the Cascine Park to celebrate the unification of Italy.
Firenze è stata anche teatro della rivoluzione dei Macchiaioli contro l'estetica tradizionale. The lady scorpions
