The entire experience with Stephen King was way above perfect. When our Mother passed away, Stephen and his team arrived at her house to take her on her final ride. They all arrived in suits and were VERY respectful to us, her daughters. Being a life long resident of Lewistown, I have had enough experience with other Funeral Homes, that can’t compare to the level of professionalism we experienced with Stephen and his staff. Somehow, Stephen took the worse situation of our lives and made us all comfortable. Trust Stephen, to lead you through the experience. -Review by: Chris

Steven John Donough
On the ninth day of the ninth month, year 2025, Steven John Donough took his last breath at home, on his farm in Juniata County.
Born June 1, 1957, to the late Paul and Mae (Mase) Donough of Lancaster County, he had just begun his 68th year of life. During those 68 years of life his body endured the effects of the condition called Scleroderma. His life stopped June 5, 2025, but came back to life to give “one more day” to all before his body could no longer continue on earth.
Steve’s life evolved
around farming. He purchased his farm in 1978 and was a devoted steward to God’s land all his life. His commitment and caring nature gave life to hundreds of animals.
Steve’s greatest love was shared with his wife, Lucinda (Wilson) Donough. Their love for each began at frst meeting while both were participating in 4-H and FFA judging contests at Penn State. Though young in age, the deepest bond of love continued until his last breath. This love will continue forever.
Steve was always the one “left behind” to fnish the farm chores while his sons represented his honor in community events. Averin Steven (Cheri), Comanche, Texas, Damein LevenPaul (signifcant other, Meranda Yohn), Honey Grove and Clancein Shea (Tori), Port Royal. His pride was shown through all his grandchildren.
Steve’s kind soul made knowing interacting with him an honor and privilege. His strong work ethics were always demon-
strated by his willingness to help anyone. To know him was a blessing.
“Farming is not just a job—it’s a way of life. When a farmer retires or dies, it means a special kind of upheaval in that way of life.” These are feelings only felt by fellow farmers. Earth lost a wonderful man, soulmate and dedicated farmer, but heaven gained a great one!
Guests were invited to join the family at Lost Creek Mennonite Church, 2682 Long Road, Miffintown, for a viewing beginning at 10 a.m. until a prayer service at 1 p.m. on what would have been his 48th wedding anniversary, Wednesday, Sept. 17, to his now heartbroken, loving wife, Lucinda. Further services were to continue at 2:30 p.m. at Steve’s farm on Mountain Road, Port Royal. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Should friends desire, fowers may be omitted and donations given to the family for future educational purposes. Casual dress is requested.

She and Jesse briefly lived in Lewistown before building their home on Honey Creek Road, Reedsville. Once widowed, Marianne moved to Burnham and lived there until relocating to State College in 2022. She moved to assisted living in Ohio approximately a year later. In May 2025, she was moved to a nursing home under hospice care and remained there until her death. She nev-
er stopped missing her many friends in Mifflin and Centre Counties, especially her “daughter of the heart,” Beth Anne Bodtorf.
After graduating from Adams Township (now Forest Hills) High School in 1949, Marianne entered Indiana State Teachers College (now Indiana University of Pennsylvania) on a full scholarship, where she earned a B.S. in Education. She then attended Susquehanna and Penn State Universities to become certified in Elementary Education. Marianne taught at Granville Elementary and Wayne Street School until her career was abruptly ended due to health problems. Thereafter, she dedicated her life to family and community as a homemaker and passionate volunteer.

Her hobbies and interests were just as varied and plentiful. U.S. travel (48 of 50 states), reading, puzzles, scrabble and other board games, and swimming were among her favorites.

She is survived by daughters, Karen Hornyak of Doylestown, Ohio and Elaine Hocker (Anthony Lamantia) of Toms River, N.J.; grandson Harry Hocker (Chris Lovett) of Mechanicsburg; and many dear nieces and nephews. IN LOVING MEMORY
William D. Morgan
William D. Morgan, 88, cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sept. 20, 2025 in State College, surrounded by his family.
Son of the late William C. and Olive Briner Morgan, of McClure, he was predeceased by brother, Jack and sisters, Lavinia, Grace, and Judy.
Bud, as he was lovingly known, graduated from McClure High School, where he was a standout athlete for the baseball, basketball, and soccer teams. His passion for teamwork and leadership on the feld would be a recurring theme throughout his life.
After high school, Bud honorably served his country in the Army and the Army Reserves. His love for his country was only matched by his love and commitment to his family including his beloved wife of 65 years, Patricia (Hetrick), and their two sons, Jon (Patty) Cicero, N.Y. and Mark (Krista) Forest Hill, Md. Bud was also a proud grandfather to Sean (Becky), Seattle,
Wash., Ryan, (Aberdeen, Md.), Maggie, (New York, N.Y.), and Brandon (Baltimore, Md.). More recently, he cherished the joy of becoming a great-grandfather to young Arthur Bud. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Carole Morgan and numerous nieces and nephews.
Professionally, Bud dedicated 37 years to HRB Singer/Raytheon Systems as an Electronics Technician/Engineer, where his expertise and work ethic were highly valued. Through his work Bud traveled around the world and experienced places he most likely would not have visited. Not one to sit still—on weekends, Bud could be found with a paintbrush in hand, painting houses, with the same pride and precision as his technical career.
Bud was an active and devoted member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Boalsburg, serving on Council and holding multiple leadership positions through the years. His involvement and leadership roles in the Harris Township Lions Club further showcased his commitment to community service.
Bud found peace and great pleasure outdoors, through gardening, hunting, or just simply being in nature—on a lake or in the woods. His hands were rarely idle, as he was also an adept handyman who could fx almost anything—a skill he passed down to his sons and grandchildren.
Bud was a dedicated Penn State athletics supporter and even traveled to see the Nittany Lions win the National Championship in 1982. Bud enjoyed spending time tailgating with friends and family before home football games. He and Pat were also avid
fans of the Lady Lions Basketball team.
Those who knew Bud would describe him as friendly and selfess, always putting others before himself. As a youth recreational soccer and baseball coach, he mentored countless young lives, imparting not only the skills of the game but also the values of teamwork and sportsmanship.
Bud’s legacy is one of love, service, and faith. His warm smile and generous spirit will be remembered, but profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though we mourn his passing, we also celebrate his life—a life that was lived with purpose and grace, a life that refected his unwavering faith.
