Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Online

Discovery Awaits
Niagara University’s online Master of Science in Education in TESOL prepares educators to teach English to speakers of other languages in Pre-K–12 settings. This 37-credit program leads to New York State certification and can also fulfill professional certification requirements. Candidates gain expertise in linguistic and cultural training, with a required 12-credit study in a language other than English. The program offers flexibility for working professionals, allowing completion in two years. Financial aid options include graduate assistantships and scholarships. Through guided observations and teaching experiences, graduates develop the skills needed to support English language learners effectively.
Additionally, a 18-credit Advanced Certificate in Teaching Students who are learning English is available for those with a master’s degree. Graduates who hold another teaching certification in NYS may qualify to add ESOL certification.
