EDITOR’S LETTER

Home to the most breathtaking mountain range I’ve ever seen, Jackson is full of endless natural beauty. My week long trip to Jackson in the summer was nothing short of magical. Sipping huckleberry margaritas at Hatch, hiking through Grand Teton National Park at sunrise and exploring the unique downtown scene were just a few of the highlights of this Rocky Mountain city. My hope is that you’ll find the rustic charm of Jackson as endearing as I do for your wedding weekend.
We’ve compiled a list of our favorite activities, sights and sips for your Rocky Mountain destination wedding weekend in Jackson. Gathering inspiration from a fun and funky engagement styled shoot, romantic Diamond Cross Ranch wedding and canoeing engagement. My hope for this wedding guide is that you’ll feel inspired and excited to start planning the start of your forever with the love of your life.
We at Rocky Mountain Bride are champions of love and hope that you’ll be as well!
Happy Planning!

MAKE IT OFFICIAL
Jackson Hole is one of the most popular areas in the country to get hitched, but make sure you schedule some time to get your Marriage License before your ceremony. You must make an appointment to purchase your marriage license by calling the Teton County Clerk and Recorder at (307) 733-4430. Only the couple needs to be present for obtaining the marriage license with proper government-issued photo identification. Please leave family and friends at home.
All marriage licenses are valid for ceremonies performed anywhere in the State of Wyoming and are valid one year from the date of purchase. Couples must complete the Marriage License Questionnaire before applying for the marriage license. The license fee is $30 and can be paid for with cash, check or credit card.
Marriage ceremonies are not performed in the County Clerk’s office or at the courthouse. You must make arrangements to have an Officiant perform your ceremony. The Clerk does not require their credentials, but they must qualify by statute: Who may solemnize marriage; form of ceremony per Wyoming State Statute 20-1-106. To see a list of local officiants and for more information on getting your marriage license in Teton County, visit www.tetonwyo.org/296/Marriage-Licenses.

Karina + Chase
Chase was introduced to Karina when a friend claimed they had met “the one” for Chase, and he was right! Two years later, Chase and Karina were hiking around the rim of Jackson Lake in Grand Teton National Park when Chase knew it was the perfect time and place to propose. He strapped his GoPro to his chest and they set out walking the shores of the lake with the ring buried deep in his camera bag. They found a picturesque spot and Chase set up his camera for what Karina thought would be a photo of them. He immediately dropped down on one knee and asked her to marry him, and although he had a speech planned, he forgot every word of it at that moment. Karina said yes!

Amanda + Zack

Amanda and Zack have been attached at the hip since they started dating their last year of college at Central Michigan University. Amanda’s family have owned a cabin in Wyoming for 20 years, and it has always been a dream to move to Wyoming. They finally followed their dreams and moved to Wyoming in June 2020.

There is a beautiful lookout near Amanda’s cabin, that they now live in, that has been Amanda’s favorite place since she was nine years old. Zack proposed to her at this lookout where they were surrounded by their family and close friends. They celebrated on top of the mountain with champagne!

Sydney + Phillip
Sydney and Phillip met 12 years ago when he was in college and she was in high school. They both went to small high schools about 15 miles apart from each other, so they always knew of each other but had never met in person. The first time they talked in person was at their local ice cream shop when Sydney had bright blue nail polish on the chigger bites on her legs. Someone told her that nail polish would help heal them faster, and Phillip asked her what was wrong with her legs due to the large amount of blue nail polish. After she told him why she was painted, he laughed and said that nail polish wouldn’t help the bites at all. The rest is history!
Their wedding day at Diamond Cross Ranch was nothing short of perfect. The neutral tones and classic greenery complimented the stunning backdrop at the Ranch. Sydney’s favorite moment of the day was right as she walked down the aisle to see her soon-to-be husband standing at the end while everyone she loves most watched her. They ended the day dancing in the sunset with the Grand Tetons as their backdrop. The love, the music, the friendship, the scenery - everything about their Rocky Mountain wedding day was perfect.

WHY THE ROCKIES
“I have been going to Jackson since I was very little and it has always been my favorite place. My dad’s family has been going for the last 40 years and that’s where the tradition started! Phillip had never been there, but he knew how much it meant to me, so he was excited to get married there.”

Katie + Jacob
Katie and Jacob met at Brigham Young University - Idaho during a large group activity. They hit it off immediately and Jacob proposed nine months later. He planned the perfect day with a tour of Katie’s favorite sights throughout town, ate her favorite snacks, listened to her favorite music and ended the day at a beautiful spot overlooking the entire city. They kissed on the tailgate of Jacob’s car and he proposed with a gorgeous ring.
They eloped among the Grand Tetons surrounded by family and friends clad in citrus-themed dresses and suits. For Katie and Jacob, eloping was the best choice for them because the only things they needed were a marriage license, permit to get married in the Tetons and the people who love them most in the world. Their elopement was short and sweet, and Katie’s favorite moment was when she realized she would get an entire new family to add on to hers after they said “I do.”

WHY THE ROCKIES?
“Honestly, eloping was the best thing we could’ve done! All we did was get our wedding license and permit to get married in the Tetons. We set a date and time, and told everyone to dress like their favorite fruit!”

Bradee + Shane
Bradee and Shane met line dancing at a famous country bar in Denver. Sparks flew during line dancing lessons and one and a half years later, they were engaged. Shane planned the perfect intimate proposal by gathering all of Bradee’s closest friends and making sure both of their parents were in town for the weekend. After the proposal, he planned a backyard engagement party at the site of their first date.
They decided on a destination wedding in the Grand Tetons, and while planning a wedding during Covid in a city they’ve never lived in was difficult, the wedding turned out beautifully. The area is very special and nostalgic to them both, so they knew it was right. Bradee and Shane’s wedding day was perfectly intimate with a backyard ceremony at their Airbnb and a dinner with their closest friends and family sharing blessings over them as a couple.

WESTERN FUNK
Fun & Playful Engagement
Before the nitty-gritty of wedding planning really ramps up, you and your spouse-to-be get to celebrate your engagement with engagement photos. This is your chance to set the tone of your wedding by going full glam or choose a more laid back style. Whatever you choose to do, it’s important to make your photos a reflection of the new life you are about to start with the love of your life without the stress of the wedding day.
These fun and playful engagements, captured in downtown Jackson and Grand Teton National Park, combine glamour in the bride’s sparkling jumpsuit from Lael Collection with western flair to inspire your Rocky Mountain engagement.

Elsa Eileen Photography planned this styled engagement session based off of the jumpsuit specifically. She was scrolling on Pinterest and fell in love with the bridal jumpsuit, but could not find it anywhere until, one day, she did and knew that she had to photograph it.
Jackson became the obvious location for Elsa’s styled shoot due to it’s close proximity to northwestern Montana and the stunning scenery in the Tetons. When they were looking for the perfect couple for this shoot, they wanted a couple that really fit the Wyoming vibe, and that’s how they found Alexandra and Max. They had just gotten married in Montana, and Alexandra’s wedding ring was made to look like the Teton mountain range. The jumpsuit fit her like a glove, and they had the best time exploring a little bit of Wyoming with them.
