This construction bonds a Durable Water Repellency and weather resistant finish outer fabric, with a waterproof and breathable membrane protected by a soft mesh, taffeta or insulated lining. The result: dependable protection and everyday versatility.

2.5-Layer Barricade™ Fabric

Designed for active movement and warmer weather, this lighter construction bonds the outer fabric to the waterproof and breathable membrane with a printed protective layer. It offers exceptional stretch, comfort, and packability due to its reduced weight without compromising on performance.

3-Layer Barricade™ Fabric

Our pinnacle performance option. Here, all 3 layers (outer, membrane, tricot lining) are bonded together into a single fabric, delivering maximum protection, breathability and durability for high-intensity activity in the harshest weather conditions.

Drop-Liner Barricade™ Fabric

Going PFC-Free

Waterproof clothing is essential, whether for big adventures or everyday use. Traditionally, waterproof gear has relied on PFC-based (per- and polyfluorinated chemical) treatments.

While effective at repelling water, oil, and stains, these chemicals persist in the environment, polluting waterways and threatening wildlife and human health.

That is why we are transitioning to PFC-free alternatives, specifically C0 (Carbon-Zero)

Durable Water Repellency finishes. C0 treatments

offer reliable water repellency without harmful chemicals. They may wear off faster than traditional PFCs, but with proper care they keep you dry and are far kinder to the planet.

Going PFC-free does not mean reduced performance. With regular washing and occasional reproofing using PFC-free treatments, your jacket will remain waterproof and long-lasting.

This is about more than innovation: it is about protecting the environment while delivering gear you can trust.

From Autumn/Winter 2025, we will move away from traditional down insulation and adopt PrimaLoft® alongside our own Insuloft synthetic fills. This change reflects our commitment to better performance and responsibility.

Unlike down, PrimaLoft® retains warmth when wet, making it ideal for the UK’s damp climate while avoiding the ethical issues linked to animal-derived materials. Its innovation lies in ultrafine fibres, seven times thinner than human hair, which provide a balance of warmth, breathability and durability.

PrimaLoft® is committed to innovation that benefits both people and the planet. Since 1997, the company has pioneered recycled materials, transforming nearly 1 billion plastic bottles into insulation fibres and preventing waste from entering landfills and oceans.

Where do donations go?

Your pre-loved outdoor clothing helps community groups, charities, schools, and outdoor organisations provide young people and adults with the opportunity to explore nature, learn new skills, and build confidence in an outdoor setting amongst like-minded individuals.

Your donations also help charities that support less fortunate individuals facing homelessness, by providing them with essential clothing.

What kit do we really need?

We’re in need of waterproofs, jackets, backpacks, walking footwear, warm accessories, and children’s outdoor kit. These essential items enable individuals of all ages to enjoy the outdoors comfortably, and safely.

The clothing we received has been a game-changer for all the Scouts working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award. A good coat makes all the difference, keeping them warm, dry, and ready to take on every challenge. We’re incredibly grateful for the support - it’s helped our Scouts stay focused on their goals! ”
