If you have suggestions for trails to include in the 2026 season of Trail of the Month we encourage you to send an email with your suggestion to tom@rr4w.com. Please keep in mind that we like to keep Trail of the Month outings to a single day in length and on trails rated 6 or below.
The 2025 season of Trail of the Month is rapidly coming to a close with our final excursion on November 15th when we will head out on Flat Iron Mesa Tip Toe. We will explore additional trails in the area by the Flat Iron Mesa with minimal overlap with the regular Flat Iron trail. We will once again depart from the north lot of City Market, 425 S Main St, at 9:00am.
We encourage you to review the trail in your copy of the Easter Jeep Safari magazine for details on this trail. This is a 4 rated trail. Keep an eye on the club Facebook page for any breaking news on this run as weather can be an issue in November.
Members or participants at Trail of the Month who may be interested in becoming a leader or gunner for the upcoming season of Trail of the Month or other club
events are encouraged to participate during T.O.M. as it's a great way to become acquainted with duties of those positions. Our current T.O.M. leaders and gunners have decades of experience in some cases and are a great resource to learn from. With the lower trail ratings we run during T.O.M. its a great time to raise your hand to try out one of those leadership positions on the trail.
If you haven’t heard the news, the Red Rock 4-Wheelers has officially made the move from legacy CB radios to GMRS/FRS communication for all club events. This transition began with the Labor Day Camp Out event in 2025 and continues as we celebrate the 60th Annual Easter Jeep Safari in 2026 as we modernize our trail communication to improve clarity, range, and ease of use for all participants.
To help with the transition, longtime club and event supporter Rugged Radios will be on-site during the entire run of the 60th Annual Easter Jeep Safari in 2026 to answer questions, offer advice, and help you find the best setup for your vehicle, whether you're just getting started or looking to upgrade your system. They’ll also have a special offer just for EJS attendees, along with radios, accessories, and mounting solutions available for purchase.
Whether you’re a seasoned GMRS user or brand new to the tech, stop by and speak with the Rugged team. They'll even help with other brands of radios and make sure you're set up for success on the trail.
Welcome to the future of trail communication.
Labor Day Camp Out 2025 was blessed with some of the best conditions in recent memory. 111 registrants attended the event this year. Participation was up slightly from 2024 but we still a bit away from a full event. There are many reasons but a less than robust economy and inflation has impacted many family budgets across the country.
Labor Day Camp Out 2025 was a watershed event for the club as the event was the first by the club to use GMRS radios as our primary trail communication technology. Feedback was very positive from attendees. Many took advantage of Rugged Radios being on site during the entire event to get their questions answered and in many cases acquiring their GMRS radio.
Worldwide River Expeditions provided meals once again for the event. Meals at the campground made for a relaxed atmosphere before heading out on trail. If you have not attended a Labor Day Camp Out I encourage you to add it to your bucket list. The smaller size and more intimate setting is a great way to meet and make new friends for the trail. And the Jolly Roger Movie Night is fast becoming the new "place to be seen at" when at the campground!
Thanks to the Labor Day Committee for laying out the event and working so hard to make it a success again this year. Committee members are James & Kimberly Graves; Ron & Linda Brewer; John & Carol Martin; Rick Wolcott; Bob & Patsy Kraft; Mike & Joanne Kelso; Ken & Lourae Minor, Mark Pope and Gayle & John Weisbecker who took care of the Merchandise table.
Also, to all those volunteers on the trails who make this fun and exciting for the participants – you’re a great asset to the Club and everyone connected with it. This event is not possible without you!

The Red Rock 4-Wheelers will once again be celebrating the holidays with our annual Holiday Party in January. This year's dinner and party will take place on Saturday, January 17th, 2026. Happy Half Hour will begin at 6:30pm, with dinner being served up at 7:00pm.
The Broken Oar Restaurant located at 53 W 400 N in Moab will again be hosting the event. Please RSVP Carma at 435-259-6878 if you will be attending.
So what else has the Club been up to this summer other than preparing for the 60th EJS? The Red Rock 4-Wheelers continue to be active in local community and other off road events. The Club manned a booth at the Mesa 4-Wheelers Expo this spring. On the 4th of July a group of club members participated in the Moab 4th of July parade, we also attended Camp Rubicon and the Trail Hero Vendor Show.
A large group represented the Club in the Melon Days Parade in Green River. The Red Rock 4-Wheelers are highly anticipated at the Melon Days Parade as we have developed a reputation as being very generous with the candy along the route. Club members were rewarded with a 2nd and 3rd Place award for creatively decorated vehicles! Good job Mark and Adam!
We will be participating in the Moab Electric Lights Parade December 6th. If you want to join the fun, send an email to pio@rr4w.com for more information!

Please head over to Facebook and YouTube and check out the Red Rock 4-Wheelers social media. The Club has been busy adding long form Trail Preview videos to give area visitors and event attendees a peek at the trails they may wish to travel while here in the Moab area. We have also produced a series called "What is it?" where we delve into the landmarks and history of Moab and the wider southeast Utah area.
Our Facebook page is quickly becoming our way to quickly get information out surrounding RR4W events, land use issues, community activities and breaking news. It's also a great place to interact with others before, during and after RR4W events.
