What is JOTA-JOTI?
Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) & Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI)
Scout Adventure Guide
JOTA-JOTI is the world’s largest digital and radio Scout event. It takes place every October and connects millions of Scouts across the globe through:
• JOTA – Using amateur (ham) radio to talk to other Scouts
• JOTI – Using the internet to chat, play, and learn with Scouts worldwide
This is your chance to:
• Make international Scout friends
• Practice communication and tech skills
• Take part in global activities and challenges
• Explore cultures, languages, and ideas
• Learn how Scouts in other countries live and lead
Before You Begin
Make sure you’re ready with:
• A safe, supervised device (laptop, tablet, radio station, etc.)
• Your Scout neckerchief/uniform – you’re representing your group and country
• A notebook or JamPuz tracker
• Access to the official JOTA-JOTI platform: https://www.jotajoti.info
• A good attitude – you’re a global ambassador for Scouts!
How to Introduce Yourself
When chatting or talking with another Scout:
• Start with your first name only
• Mention your country or Scout group
• Share an interesting fact or hobby
Example:
"Hi! I’m James from Craggy Island Scouts in Ireland. I love climbing and am working towards the Crean Challenge Award.”
Introducing JamPuz
JamPuz = Jamboree Puzzle
Every Scout group at JOTA-JOTI receives a unique code (e.g., IRL-123-A).
Your goal is to:
• Meet Scouts from around the world
• Ask for their JamPuz code
• Record it in your JamPuz passport
• Try to collect as many different ones as you can!
Optional: Share your group’s code with others too!
You can download the JamPuz tracker at: https://www.jotajoti.info
Activities to Try
Here are some typical JOTA-JOTI activities you can take part in:
