SETON HALL LAW

Discover Seton Hall Law
Seton Hall Law’s cornerstone values – integrity, loyalty and engagement – define the Seton Hall Lawyer. These values characterize our ethos while you are a student and guide the lives of every Seton Hall Law graduate. The Seton Hall Law values are the driving force of your relationships with each other, me, and your professors as both a student and a graduate. Loyalty, integrity and engagement will define your relationships with your clients, colleagues, and the bar. The Seton Hall Lawyer is special, and we work hard to preserve what makes us unique.
Seton Hall Law’s approach to preparing our students for their professional lives is unlike any other law school. Our mantra, “one student at a time” means that we help you identify your professional options, aid you in testing alternative career paths, and then start you on the path that will achieve your aspirations. Among 200 law schools nationally, in 2019 Seton Hall Law ranks #59 in US News & World Report, #1 for judicial clerkships by U.S. News & World Report, #35 in Above the Law, and #11 for job placement based on the percentage of graduates in full-time, long-term positions requiring bar passage by the National Law Journal. While we are proud of these rankings, our true test of success is not how many jobs we help our graduates obtain, but how many careers we launch that fulfill our students’ aspirations.
At Seton Hall Law, it’s one student at a time.

THE CASE FOR CLERKSHIPS
Because so many of its students secure clerkships upon graduation, Seton Hall Law tracks the postclerkship employment success of those graduates. As this chart indicates, over 96% of the class of 2017 was employed upon finishing their clerkships, which obviously are an important step in building life-long professional networks and refining legal skills to increase our graduates’ competitive edge in the job market.
