Save the Date: Friday, March 11 Fort Hood Memorial Unveiling
Generations of Family Participate in Progressive 42 State Tournament
The future November 5, 2009, Fort Hood Memorial is seen last week on South W.S. Young Drive in Killeen. The memorial, which will honor the 13 killed and more than 30 wounded in the 2009 on-post shooting, is expected to be completed in the next month. The unveiling is set for Friday afternoon, March 11. During the ceremony, several officials are expected to be in attendance, including Texas Governor Greg Abbott, U.S. Representative Roger Williams, and U.S. Rep. John Carter. Governor Abbott is expected to award Texas Purple Heart medals to the service members who were shot or killed. The Vestnik will include ceremony details when they become available.
Domino players from across Texas gathered at the SPJST Home Office on Saturday, January 9 for the State Progressive 42 Tournament. It was more than fun and competition for these three families.
