Serving as the homebase for many events on campus, this lounge also features ample seating for students, tables to do coursework, microwaves for student use, as well as vending and coffee machines.

A hub of student activity, this area on the second floor features study alcoves perfect for individual or group assignments, a large table for meetings, as well as access to the multi-faith room and the seasonal outdoor patio.

Pre-Med Pathway

Start your studies in UNF’s Honours Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences program, then transition to an MD program at one of our partner medical schools after earning 90 undergraduate credits.

Through this pathway, after successfully completing three years at UNF, you will transition to the MD program at Saba University School of Medicine (SUSOM) or Medical University of the Americas (MUA).

Once you successfully complete the first two terms of the MD program at SUSOM or MUA, UNF will accept the completed courses towards the final 30 credits needed to complete your undergraduate degree.

Their four-year MD programs encompass 10 semesters, with two years of classroom and labbased learning, followed by two years of clinical rotations at affiliated teaching hospitals, clinics, and medical centres in the U.S. and select elective rotation sites in Canada.

With this pathway, you can save one year’s worth of undergraduate tuition, housing, and living costs, and begin your career as a medical doctor one year sooner!

Prospective students who do not meet the minimum academic or language requirements can bridge the gap to earn a spot in their program of choice through academic bridging or preparatory programs.

Graduate Foundation Program

This one-semester academic bridging program offers applicants who do not meet the minimum academic entrance requirements for graduate programs an alternative pathway to their desired master’s program.

Students complete three undergraduate academic bridging courses.

• Study on campus or complete program online

• Nine courses to choose from, depending on availability

• Achieve a 3.0 GPA to progress into master’s program

MCS Bridge Program

This two-semester academic bridging program offers applicants to the Master of Computer Science in Applied Artificial Intelligence program who do not meet the minimum academic entrance requirements an alternative pathway into the program.

• Complete six undergraduate academic bridging courses

• Achieve a 3.0 GPA to progress into MCS AAI program

English for Academic Purposes powered by TLG

Prospective students who do not meet the minimum English language requirements for direct entry to UNF programs can improve their language skills to qualify for admission through a program developed in partnership with The Language Gallery. The program focuses on improving English skills in academic writing, referencing, researching, notetaking, listening, summarizing and synthesizing texts, critical thinking, and speaking.

The Master of Arts in Digital Media and Global Communications has opened doors I never could have imagined.

Opportunities like working as a social media collaborator and being marketing lead for the university radio station have been highlights of my university experience so far. Getting involved on campus has boosted my confidence and helped me build real connections.

Admission requirements

Review these guidelines to understand the key components of a successful application.

Undergraduate

For admission to one of our honours bachelor’s degrees, you must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent diploma with academic courses outlined below:

• At least six Grade 12 4U or 4M-level courses, including 4U English and a 4U Math

• Minimum overall grade average of 70% on best six Grade 12 4U/4M-level courses

English language proficiency requirements

English is the exclusive and official language of instruction and examination at the University of Niagara Falls Canada.

Applicants whose first language is not English, or who have received their education in a language other than English, must provide evidence of English language proficiency at a university level by achieving a minimum proficiency score in an approved test or qualifying for an exemption.

Graduate

To qualify for graduate studies, you need to have completed an undergraduate degree from a recognized institution equivalent to a four-year bachelor’s in Canada with an academic performance outlined below:

• A cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on 4.33 scale) or better

In addition to the requirements listed above, the following program has additional requirements:

Master of Data Analytics

• Completion of at least two undergraduate courses in statistics or quantitative methods (or equivalent)

Master of Arts in Applied Social Psychology

• Completion of a recognized undergraduate degree in psychology or adjacent social science disciplines such as sociology, criminology, or social work

Applicants with bachelor’s degrees from other disciplines may be considered if their degree contains five or more courses in psychology

• Completion of at least one undergraduate level course in statistics or quantitative methods

Master of Computer Science in Applied Artificial Intelligence

• Completion of a recognized undergraduate degree in computer science

Applicants with a background in mathematics and computer science who do not hold an undergraduate degree in computer science will be considered for admission to the MCS Bridge Program

• Completion of an undergraduate course in calculus

Master of Health Care Management

• Completion of at least one undergraduate level course in statistics or quantitative methods

All Canadian students admitted to UNF will automatically receive this award.

Canadian Experience Entrance Award

Available to international applicants who have been residing in Canada for at least one year prior to applying.

Undergraduate programs – Up to $87,960

Getting you started on the right foot

Starting at a new school comes with an adjustment period, especially if you are moving away to pursue your studies.

UNF’s New Student Orientation (NSO) helps you ease into this transition and is your official introduction to university life.

NSO is mandatory for all new students and provides an opportunity to learn more about the university, the area, and your peers.
