Choose your bet. ‘To win’ or ‘each-way’ are popular types of bet.
‘To win’ is for your horse to come first.
‘Each-way’ is for your horse to come first or to be placed. It’s two bets, so ‘£2 each-way’ = £4 total bet.
Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet.
Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.
Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.

Race preview from Weatherbys

The weights are headed by Chips And Rice, whohashadawindoperationsince last seen. Her current rating (91) isn’t much higher than her Flat mark (ran off 72inJuly)buttherehasn’tbeentoomuch encouragementintwohurdlerunsoflate.
Trainer Max Comley has been among the winners of late, so the first-time blinkered Goodbyemick is interesting.
The grey faded from two out at Huntingdon last time, so dropping in trip shouldhelp, especiallyonthisstiffertrack.
Possibly the most interesting (of the eight runners) is the lightly-raced fouryear-old Offiah’sBoy, who raced keenly when fading into mid-division on the level at Leicester recently. He had three runs in juvenile and novice company over hurdles last season and enters handicapsfromalowlymarkof80.Whilst staminaremainsaconcern, helikelyhas the ability to win a race of this nature, havingwonthreetimesontheFlatduring JulyandAugust.
The other four-year-old in the field (both receive a 1lb age allowance) is Masonbrook Meadow, who represent

The concluding race is the Weatherbys AndBirdieCalendarsJuniorNationalHunt Flat Race, with nine newcomers going to post.
Jane Williams won this race two years ago with Kel du Large and saddles two, No Boundaries and LaLuna Artista The former is well-bred and stands out on pedigree alone, being a half-brother to 2023 Arkle winner, El Fabiolo, by Grade 1-winning hurdler Moises Has, whilst the latteristhesolefillyinthefield.

BEST MATE: HONOURING A LEGEND
PricedUp Best Mate Chase Day celebrates on of Jump Racing’s all time greats.
Trained by Henrietta Knight and ridden by Jim Culloty, Best Mate made his chasing debut at Exeter in 2000 and went on to win the Haldon Gold Cup the following year.
He made history with three consecutive Cheltenham Gold Cup wins (2002–2004), matching the legendary Arkle, and also triumphed in the King George VI Chase. Known as “The People’s Horse”, he was loved for his consistency and character.
His legacy endures through memorials at Exeter and Cheltenham, including the Best Mate Enclosure and his place in the Cheltenham Hall of Fame. Join us in honouring a legend.

2024:NO CORRESPONDING RACE LASTYEAR
Blinkers worn by No 1. Tongue Strap worn by No 3, 4, 6. Blinkers, Tongue Strap worn by No 5. Sheepskin Cheek Pieces worn by No 3, 4, 6.
Probable S.P’s: 15-8 Cinnodin (GB), 4-1 Unspeakable (IRE), 6-1 Mind Hunter (GB), 15-2 Blue In The West (IRE), 9-1 Testflight (GB), 14-1 Danzini (IRE), 18-1 Stage Show (GB) PLAY SMARTER
None ofthese can be ruled out but the vote goes to CINNODIN who looks to start life in handicaps on an attractive mark and can go one better than his recent Southwell second. Mind Hunter is feared most on the back of a good Uttoxeter fourth with Testflight and Unspeakable also firmly in the picture.

GREENWAYS: Following its run on 13/10/2025 it was reported that the horse was never travelling.
UGO BINGO made a positive start for Joe Tizzard in the spring and looks to have been found an excellent opportunity to get off the mark for the yard here Hillsin also returns from an absence and looks much the biggest threat in this uncompetitive event.
