HARRY POTTER FILM STAR TOM FELTON RETURNS TO
It is rare for an actor to revisit a role. But in a completely different medium? Rarer still. Tom Felton, who rose to fame as Draco Malfoy in all eight Harry Potter films, will make wizarding world history this November when he steps back into Draco’s robes—this time as an adult—in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway. “It’s very much a ‘pinch me’ situation,” Felton says. “I keep thinking I’m dreaming.”

When November hits, the city’s thoughts turn to pounding pavement and the excitement of the TCS New York City Marathon. Some 50,000 runners from over 100 countries will be cheered on by millions across all five boroughs of the city. The New York Road Runners (NYRR) organizes the marathon, along with dozens of other running events throughout the year.

Within the show’s Tulsa, Oklahoma ecosystem of haves and have-nots circa 1967, sparks fly as Ponyboy (Trevor Wayne), Johnny Cade (Sky Lakota-Lynch), and their fellow “Greasers” are confronted by the brutish jocks (the “Socs”), leading to a mud-and-blood encrusted climax and, ultimately, the mantra “Stay gold.”

captures both the characters and the emotional trajectory of S.E. Hinton’s transformative novel, written when she was just 16. Polyjuice-worthy changes are taking place at Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, including a wizarding world first: Tom Felton, who played Harry’s arch enemy in the film series, will be returning to the role as grown-up Draco Malfoy on November 11th. Two days earlier, a trio of touring company veterans will join the cast—John Skelley in the title role, Aidan Close as his son, Albus, and Emmet Smith as Draco’s nerdy son Scorpius. Ultimately uplifting, with a Best Musical Tony Award to its credit, The Book of Mormon is highly recommended for anyone in need of a hilarious dose of escapism.
