Since 1966, Carlisle has crafted floors that become the foundation of extraordinary spaces.

We were crafting wide plank floors long before wide plank flooring was even considered an option. Founded as Carlisle Restoration Lumber, we began by developing a unique supply chain of exceptionally wide pine boards—some over 20 inches across—sourced specifically for restoration contractors working to revive Colonial-era homes along the Eastern Seaboard.

What started as a passion for authenticity and historical integrity grew into a commitment to craftsmanship, character, and natural beauty.

Over the past two decades, Carlisle has expanded its artistry beyond pine to include a broad portfolio of premium hardwood species, advanced prefinishing capabilities, and engineered constructions that bring the same handcrafted excellence to a wider range of environments.

Before there’s a board, there’s a tree. And at Carlisle, that tree matters.

Not all White Oak, Hickory, or Walnut is created equal — every detail of a tree’s life influences the quality of the floor it becomes. Where it grows, how long it grows, and how it’s harvested all shape the strength, stability, and beauty of the boards we craft.

We work with a small circle of trusted sawyers across North America to source the top 0.1% of timber — old-growth, centercut logs that yield the most stable, most expressive planks.

SLOW GROWN

Trees that grow slowly over decades develop tighter grain patterns, richer color, and exceptional dimensional stability. Cooler climates and longer growing seasons produce wood with character you can see and strength you can feel.

CENTER CUT

We select the heart of the tree — the dense, stable core where strength and beauty are most concentrated — maximizing vertical grain and the presence of highly desirable heartwood. This results in longer, wider, more dimensionally stable boards that define the Carlisle difference.

RESPONSIBLY HARVESTED

We partner with foresters who view the forest as a living garden — supporting selective harvesting, biodiversity, and regeneration so these resources continue to provide for generations to come.

Our process begins long before the boards reach our mill. We work with trusted sawyers who understand what we seek: slow-grown hardwoods from the center and bottom of the tree where the grain is tightest, the tone most consistent, and the strength unmatched. Each tree is chosen with care, shaped by soil, sunlight, and time, and harvested responsibly to ensure a legacy that lasts. From forest to floor, every decision honors both the material and the world it comes from.

Begin with White Oak—our most timeless and versatile option—or explore our full library of premium timbers, including Walnut, Hickory, Maple, Birch and Reclaimed woods. Each species offers its own personality, grain expression, and story.

WIDTH

Choose from plank widths ranging from 4” to 12” and beyond. Wider boards reveal more of the wood’s natural beauty, bringing a sense of artistry, scale, and effortless luxury to every space.

TEXTURE

Select Smooth for quiet elegance and refined simplicity, or Brushed for added depth, dimension, and a softly worn-in feel. For those seeking even more character, Carlisle offers a selection of handcrafted textures—each revealing the artistry and story within the wood.

SHEEN

From velvety Super Matte to softly glowing Satin, your sheen sets the tone—whether you prefer a contemporary low-luster or a traditional polished surface.

GRADE

Choose from Heirloom, Signature, or Original, each telling its own story through the amount of visible character and natural variation.

PATTERN

Define your layout with classic Plank or elevate with Patterned Formats such as Herringbone or Chevron.

STRUCTURE

Select Engineered for environments that demand stability or Solid for a traditional build—both crafted to last for generations.

FINISH
